Consultations & Referrals
You do not require a referral to visit a Podiatrist.
Similar to other medical practitioners, appointment costs are reflective of the time spent with you.
Standard Consultation
This is typically enough time for most treatment services such as:
- General Podiatry treatment, OR
- Assessment of an injury, OR
- Review and rehabilitation
Extended Consultation
- Multiple problems require attention
- Initial Paediatric appointment
- Initial consultation from our
*Please advise reception staff if you think an extended consultation might be required.
Additional Costs
Extra Podiatry Services are sometimes necessary and billed over and above your consultation fee.
For example;
Biomechanical and gait assessments, foot scanning for orthotics, injection therapy, nail surgery and any necessary consumables.
Your podiatrist will discuss these additional costs with you first. Most of these services have corresponding insurance item numbers, which enables rebate.
Claiming with Private Health Insurance
- Balaclava Podiatry accepts all private health insurance funds, which can be claimed on the spot (HICAPS)
- Balaclava Podiatry is not a preferred provider with any one insurance company
Enhanced Primary Care Referrals (EPC) for Chronic Disease
- Medicare EPC rebate can be claimed on the spot
- This rebate is valued at $55.10 deposited back into your nominated bank account. Therefore an out-of-pocket gap remains.
